Collaborative and Independent Research

Syndicated studies are multi-client research projects carried out on behalf of coalitions of animal advocates, often initiated and proposed by HRC. We have completed several such studies and we regularly propose new collaborative studies (click to see our current set of syndicated studies) or see below for the actual results from these studies.

The Animal Tracker (Wave 4 - March 2011)

| | | | | | | | |
by
This report summarizes results from Wave 4 of the Animal Tracker annual survey of U.S. adults regarding their attitudes and behavior toward animals. In summary, the results continue to show strong support for humane education and many other advocacy tactics. However, support for all tactics is lower than it was in 2008 and there appear to be fewer people engaging in animal-friendly behaviors, perhaps in part due to the economic downturn.

The Animal Tracker (Wave 3 - March 2010)

| | | | | | |
by
These results from Wave 3 of the Humane Research Council's annual survey of U.S. adults regarding attitudes and behavior toward animals shows strong support for the protection of all animals, but knowledge of some animal issues remains low and the perceived impact of animal advocates is modest.

The Animal Tracker (Wave 2 - March 2009)

| | | | |
by
This report summarizes results from Wave 2 of the Animal Tracker annual survey of U.S. adults regarding attitudes and behavior toward animals. The first survey (Wave 1, 2008) included sixteen questions; the Wave 2 survey repeated six questions from Wave 1. In summary, the most recent survey continues to show strong support for the protection of all animals, although in some instances that support decreased slightly compared with the Wave 1 results.

The Animal Tracker (Wave 1 - June 2008)

| | | | | | | |
by
This report summarizes results from Wave 1 of the Humane Research Council's "Animal Tracker" survey of U.S. adults regarding their attitudes and behavior toward animals. This inaugural survey of 16 core questions shows strong support for the protection of all animals. The strength of that support varies by situation and species, however, and actual behavior does not always reflect the favorable attitudes identified.
