Short Description:
A recent survey by Mintel Oxygen Reports finds that most respondents (92%) believe eggs are an important part of a healthy diet and almost all U.S. households (94%) consume eggs. The survey also gauges differences in perceptions of regular, brown, organic, and free range eggs.
Abstract:
Select survey findings:
- Half of households surveyed that do buy eggs consider them a staple and do not anticipate changing their purchasing habits even if prices go up.
- Traditional white eggs are purchased in most households (88%), followed by brown eggs (27%), then organic (17%), and finally free range (14%) eggs.
- One-third of respondents eat fewer eggs than they would like due to concerns about cholesterol.
